Sample Librarian

Location: Norwalk, CT

Type: Full-time

Reports to: Dina Peterson – Rug Sample Manager

Description: We are currently seeking an extremely organized, customer service-oriented Sample Librarian in our Norwalk, CT rug studio. This role plays a vital part in supporting our sales teams by ensuring that rug samples are picked, packed, and shipped with care and accuracy. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a physically active role. This person will be responsible for facilitating rug sample requests, picking & shipping samples, and keeping our sample stock organized.

Job Responsibilities

  • Fulfills and ships out showroom sample requests
  • Inspect and ensure samples are clean, labeled, and in good condition before packing
  • Oversees rug sample loans and returns from showrooms
  • Learning the product details across our rug collections to better service our sales teams
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sample inventory area
  • Ensures inventory control and maintenance of all samples
  • Liaising with showroom teams across 16 worldwide locations
  • Answering sample department phone and monitor incoming emails
  • Assist with launching new collection sampling as needed

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • 1 to 2 years relevant work experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook & Google Sheets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to comfortably lift and carry 20–30 lbs on a regular basis
  • Comfortable using a step stool to access sample shelving
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods during shifts
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-tasking environment with flexibility and resilience

Rug Specialist

Location: New York, NY

Type: Full-time

Reports to: Sophie Guild – Showroom Manager

Description: Holland & Sherry is in search of an experienced Sales Associate to join our team in our NYC showroom as a Rug Sales Specialist. Our new team member must be personable and highly motivated. Our company is rapidly expanding, creating exciting new opportunities for career growth. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop thorough product and industry knowledge through trainings and research.
  • Present to clients inside and outside of the showroom at a targeted rate of 8 appointments per week.
  • Promptly follow up on all client inquiries and provide quotes as needed.
  • Liaise with purchasing and design teams to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Regularly review client list and sales strategies to maximize sales potential.

Job Requirements

  • Willingness to pack and carry a suitcase throughout Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn in order to show samples on a regular basis

  • A positive, can-do attitude

  • Eagerness to learn and share with others

  • A respectful and punctual nature

  • High proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and a willingness to learn necessary CRM systems specific to Holland & Sherry

  • 2-4 years of interior design or related industry experience

  • Showroom experience preferred but not required

  • *Please note this position requires a training period of appx. three months in which you will shadow/assist current Rug Sales Specialists. After the three- month period, this job offers a flexible schedule with only three days inside of the showroom required so long as sales and presentation goals are being met.

Marketing Coordinator, Holland & Sherry and Elizabeth Eakins

Location: New York (on-site) with travel two days per week to Norwalk, CT

Type: Full-time

Reports to: Melinda Cedel – Marketing Director of Holland & Sherry

Description: As the Marketing Coordinator for Elizabeth Eakins and Holland & Sherry, you will increase the companies’ marketing efficiency by creating and implementing best-in-class marketing materials and driving process improvements. This role requires high energy, collaboration skills, and experience with digital marketing and content creation. This role works with the Marketing Department at the Holland & Sherry New York office three days per week and reports to the Creative Director at Elizabeth Eakins two days per week. 

This is a full-time position based in our New York office, with travel required two (2) days per week to our Norwalk, CT studio. Commuting costs will be reimbursed. 

About You: You are an accomplished marketing guru with a history of working collaboratively across teams to produce next-level marketing materials. You are detail-oriented and focused, you have great prioritization skills, and you can work on multiple projects at once. You are comfortable using Mailchimp, Photoshop, WordPress, Later, and Excel. You are excited about learning how to use new software platforms if needed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create content for digital channels including email, Instagram, and website with the goal of informing, educating, and inspiring sales teams and prospective clients. 
  • Create marketing assets in Photoshop. 
  • Create consistent product tear sheets across all product categories. 
  • Execute website updates. 
  • Work with the Marketing Manager and Creative Director to implement marketing strategies across our tech stack. 
  • Monitor ongoing trends in interior design in both traditional and digital media outlets. 
  • Update product source guides and facilitate additional product photography. 
  • Maintain and organize digital assets (documents, photography, videography, etc.) to ensure efficient retrieval and recordkeeping. 
  • Communicate with our photographer(s) to plan and execute product photoshoots.

Job Requirements

  • A creative individual who possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
    Strong internal and external collaboration and relationship building skills. 
  • A track record in implementing effective marketing strategies. 
  • Detail-oriented self-starter. 
  • Experience using Photoshop and Illustrator (or other graphic design and photo editing software). 
  • Willingness to work in-office 5 days per week – three days per week in the New York City office and two days per week in the Norwalk, CT Studio. 

Preferred Criteria

  • Familiarity with interior design/architecture industry. 
  • Experience with planning and executing photoshoots. 
  • Experience with Mailchimp, WordPress, Later, and Excel. 
  • Experience with project management.
